Alyssa Harrison wraps up Dino Blade Music

This week, a year long journey has come to a close as Alyssa Harrison wraps up composing the original soundtrack for Dino Blade. Alyssa recorded and composed the environmental music for the social media hit game, Dino Blade. The soundscape for the over world music was one of tension and curiosity, hoping to lead the players further into the world of Dino Blade by using extended violin and flute techniques, as well as implementing the composition style known as Musique Concrète. Bringing life to this strange prehistoric place was paramount in her compositions.
Alyssa researched ancient cultures and their music tendencies in order to bring a certain level of realism to her tracks. Adding instruments such as Conch Shell horns and Dobro strings to the levels. Bringing in live musicians was also very important in order to create a truly raw and unencumbered feeling to these pieces- what you’d expect from a wild and prehistoric world. Anwen Borgo, celebrated Violist, recorded live Viola for the OST. Gabe Meacham recorded Upright Bass, and Jacob Nunes recorded many hand drums and percussion elements. Alyssa Harrison herself recorded all of the flute and violin lines, as well as many wooden flutes and live Sound Effects. John Hoffman mixed and mastered each track with the utmost care.
Dino Blade’s overworld OST was a successful campaign into vast creative liberty. Wrapping up this project is bitter sweet, but overwhelmingly exciting. Soon, this beautiful work will be shared with players around the world!
